Participatory community / company partnership from day one
Although the team of CROs working on the Sulawesi project had the advantage of working on a greenfield project, building a strong relationship with the communities was key to keeping project on track and within budget. And most importantly its social license to operate. Challenges included operating in a multiethnic context where it is hard to identify local groups due to high level of migration, remote access and poor infrastructure, and more.
